Since my last email, I've also had the privilege of signing on my first client!
One thing I've observed so far is how much I enjoy peeling back the layers of someone's financial life. Reviewing a real person's IRA accounts or insurance policies might sound like a snooze fest to some people, but to me, it's meaningful. It's helping someone organize years of scattered financial decisions into a plan that makes sense. It’s a little like editing a closet you’ve built over 20 years; figuring out what still fits, what you’ve outgrown, and what’s actually missing.
These financial decisions are often as emotional as they are mathematical. And that's also how I'd like this email newsletter to evolve.
Instead of product updates, I'll occasionally share thoughtful and informative takes on the money topics many of us wrestle with: investing, saving for retirement, estate planning, and many others that don't always have one perfect answer.
There is no shortage of sources on the internet that will tell you what the logically optimal decision is. As important as that is, I'm more interested in the intersection of numbers and real life - how to make financial plans that balance technical soundness with empathy for human behavior.
Just like my years of sharing content from Easy Sunday Club, I hope to share financial content in a thoughtful and accessible way. My hope is that each email leaves you a little more informed, a little more curious, or simply with one idea you hadn't considered before.
If that sounds worthwhile, I'm glad you're still here.
Out of respect for everyone’s already-crowded inbox, I’ve pared this list down to people who’ve interacted with me or my work this year. So congrats, you made the cut! :) That said, I completely understand if this isn’t what you signed up for all those months (or years) ago. No hard feelings if you’d rather unsubscribe.
Sincerely,
Cathy
